    We may reject profiles if the username, headline, or narrative text contain any of the following:

    • Any direct contact information (i.e., email addresses, URLs, ICQ/instant messenger IDs, phone numbers, full names, addresses)
    • Any location or descriptive information that threatens a member’s anonymity
    • Abusive language of any kind (i.e., vulgarity, racism)
    • Discussion or descriptions of illegal acts or behavior (i.e., drug use, violence)
    • Business or political advertisements or solicitations
    • Material that exploits or solicits personal information from individuals under the age of 18
    • Foreign languages (to effectively monitor profiles, they must be in English)
    • Solicitation of multiple or additional partners
    • Unauthorized use of copyrighted or trademarked material

    Q:  Why doesn’t my profile show up when I search?
      A:  If your profile doesn't appear, go to Profile Review and make sure "Show My Profile" is selected. NOTE: After you've selected "Show My Profile" make sure you click on "Submit" at the bottom of the page. If you've already tried these suggestions and still have questions, please contact us and we'll be happy to help you.

    Q:  What are the guidelines for posting a photo?
      A:  When you create a profile, you can post your photo of yourself. You can upload images directly from your computer or mail them to us. You can mail us a photograph, and we’ll scan it for free. Visit My Photo for more information.
    • Choose a solo shot for your primary photo, and save second and third positions for group or pet photos.
    • Please note that you must appear in each of the photos - we will not post photos of children or pets only.
    • Photos of cartoon characters or celebrities are copyrighted and cannot be posted.
    • Try black and white images. They're often smaller in file size, and more flattering.
    • Nudity, obscenity, sexual or otherwise offensive photos will not be posted.
    • Image files can be no larger than 200k.

    Q:  How do I post a photo?
      A:  tamilmatchmakers.com makes it easy for you, by offering 3 ways to post a photo.

    Upload a Photo

    To upload a photo directly from your computer, simply go to the My Photo, select "Upload Photo", and follow the instructions. Please Note:
    • Your photo file must be under 200K.
    Once approved, uploaded photos will be posted exactly as they are submitted. Be sure to crop your photo if necessary before uploading it. Due to the volume of photos that we receive, it may take 24-72 hours for your photo to appear on your profile.

    Email a Photo

    Due to the large number of photos submitted by email, posting may take up to 72 hours. To help speed up the process, please check to ensure that your email and photo file meet the following requirements:
    • Your email MUST include your first and last name, Username, tamilmatchmakers.com registered email address and Birthdate.
    • Indicate if you like this to be your primary photo.
    • If you send a group photo, please let us know who you are in the photo.
    • We prefer files in .jpg (JPEG) format, but will accept other file formats as well.
    • All photo files must be 200K or less.
    • Please send photos as attachments only. We cannot accept a picture embedded in an email.
    • Send your email and photo attachments (meeting the above requirements) to photos@tamilmatchmakers.com.
    Mail a Photo

    You may send your photo to us by traditional mail for our FREE scanning and posting service. To speed up the process, please follow these guidelines:
    • We suggest photos no larger than 5"x7" and no smaller than 2"x2".
    • Please write your First and Last name, Username, tamilmatchmakers.com registered email address and birthdate on the back of your photo.
    • Indicate if you would like this to be your primary photo.
    • If you send a group photo, please let us know who you are in the photo
    NOTE: If you wish to have your photo returned, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

    We regret that shipments from private messenger services such as FedEx or UPS cannot be delivered to a P.O. Box. The fastest method for sending your photo(s) is through the U.S. Postal Service's "Express" or "Priority Mail." To avoid a significant delivery delay, you MUST CHECK the "no signature required" box.

    Q:  I already have a photo, but how do I add others?
      A:  Posting additional photos is quick and easy! Simply go to the My Photos section, click "Browse" to find your photo and click "Upload" to load it.

    Q:  How long will it take for my photo to appear?
      A:  Normal posting time for photos is 24-72 hours. Our team must approve each photo to maintain the quality of matches available through tamilmatchmakers.com.

    Q:  I'm having trouble arranging the order of my photos. What do I do?
      A:  Simply click the replace button beneath the photo you would like to replace and upload the photo you want to replace it with. Once your replacement photo has been approved by our team, it will be posted in 24 to 72 hours.

    Q:  What's the difference between HTML and Text email format?
      A:  Email sent in HTML (hypertext markup language) appears in much the same way you're viewing this web page. We're able to format the message we send you, adding graphics and links to other pages that you might find useful. HTML emails are ultimately designed with you, the reader, in mind and communicate their message much more effectively than emails sent as plain text.

    Email sent as plain text can be effective too; however, you won't see the formatting (bold, italics, etc.) that makes HTML easier to read. You still can receive links to useful information but lose the ability to view graphics. Key benefits of plain text emails is their smaller file size and your ability to read them offline.

    Q:  What is Search?
      A:  Searching allows you to specify the types of member profiles you want to see. You can conduct an unlimited number of searches by selecting the preferences and characteristics of your desired match. Start with zip code, age, and gender. Then narrow your search with physical characteristics, lifestyle practices, and relationship desires. Play around and try a variety of searches. You never know where you'll find your perfect match!

    Q:  Why am I not getting very many matches?
      A:  There are a number of ways to increase your number of matches. First make sure you have created a profile. Once you create your profile, our exclusive two-way Match technology will compare your profile responses with those of other members to find the profiles that best match you. Already did that? The criteria in your profile may be too specific. Go to Profile Review and try to broaden your match criteria. For example, if you have height requirements of 5'10" - 6'0", try expanding those by a few inches.

    Q:  Why am I not getting very many/any responses?
      A:  Want to increase your chances of getting of a response? Post a photo. Research shows that profiles with photos are 8 more times more likely to receive a response.

    If you're not receiving any responses at all, you many have a "Spamguard" in place that is keeping email from reaching you. Check with your service provider for more details.

    Q:  Why am I receiving matches from everywhere?
      A:  If you're receiving matches from outside your requested area, go to Profile Review and verify that your search radius is limited to a specific number of miles from your zip code. If this doesn't work, go to Profile Review and edit your zip code is correct in the "About Me" section.

    Q:  How is the email I send to other members anonymous?
      A:  We respect your privacy and keep your actual email address confidential. You'll never see your email address or real name displayed at tamilmatchmakers.com, and all written communication from other members will be directed to Username@TalkMatch. From there our double-blind email system forwards the messages to your registered email address.

    To send anonymous email: From your own email program, address your message to Username@talkmatch.com. Remember, you only can send anonymous email from your registered email address. Read below to learn more about protecting your anonymity when replying to message you've received.

    To reply to email from other Match.com users: Open the message you received and press "Reply." Review the text in your email and delete any mention of your real email address. Turn off your auto-signatures and auto-responders. Do not copy (cc: or bcc:) or forward email to yourself when you send a message from your own email program. When you reply to a Username@talkmatch.com email address, your real email address will be removed from the "From" line, so the recipient will see only YourUserName@talkmatch.com.

    Receiving Anonymous Email: You will receive anonymous email at your registered email address, exactly like a regular email message.

    Saving Correspondence: We do not save email sent through Match.com. If you want to save email messages that you have sent and received, save copies on your computer as you would save any other email, or copy and paste the body of your email to a document that you can save.

      A:  Yes, you must be a subscriber of Match.com to respond to email or initiate a conversation with other Match.com members.

    Q:  Why is the email I sent being returned to me?
      A:  If the email you're sending is being returned to you, it could be that:
    • You are trying to send to an anonymous username that doesn't exist. Be sure to check your spelling.
    • The person you are trying to contact is no longer a member of Match.com.
    • You are sending from an email address other than the address that you used when you joined Match.com.
    • You are not a paying subscriber to Match.com.

    Q:  How can I set up a web-based email account?
      A:  If you need to establish an email account, there are several Web-based services that provide email service free of charge. By establishing a free web-based email account and registering it with Match.com, you can:
    • Be organized by sending all of your Match.com email to your Web-based email inbox rather than having it mixed in with your work or other personal correspondence.
    • Send and receive messages from any internet-connected computer.
    • Stay in touch with your matches even when you're out of town.
    After joining, if you'd like your Match.com email directed to your new web-based email address, you must change your current registered email address in your Membership Info

    Q:  Why does the tamilmatchmakers.com site seem to be slow?
      A:  If you're having trouble with the speed of our site, it's usually one of three things:
    • tamilmatchmakers.com may be experiencing technical difficulty. We know what it's like to be in a hurry to find love, but please try again later.
    • The connection on your end may be the cause. Double-check your modem settings or connection speed to make sure you're connected at the highest possible internet connection rate.
    • The internet itself may be experiencing a traffic jam. Try again at another time when the information highway may not be so heavily traveled.
